Tuesday, November 24th, 2009Getting Your Finances In Line 2009: November
Tuesday, November 24th, 2009
Well another month has past, and it is time to see the results of our hard work and sacrifice for the month of November! To recap, the goals that I having been diligently working on, are getting our grocery bills down to $50.00 per week, and paying down our only outstanding debt which is our mortgage. So how did we do??? Here is the totals on our grocery bills:
Week One: $42.18
Week Two: $64.59
Week Three: $50.24
Week Four: $49.57
Grand total spent on groceries this month: $206.58
I did go over budget $6.58, but the deals were awesome this month, and I am not going to lose sleep over that little of an amount. However, I am extremely pleased with this number since my goal of $50.00 per week is fairly new and I have managed to reduce it by $73.42 since October.
Now on to our mortgage! We were able, by the grace of God, to reduce our mortgage by 2.03% this month! Whoot whoot! I am sooo excited, because in this month we have also done a majority of our Christmas shopping, so I was super thrilled with this number! So since I have been keeping track we have reduced our mortgage 3.75% total! Which is exactly almost to the dollar 30% off of our original loan amount! I am just over joyed by this! God is so good to us, and is just shows that even when the numbers may seem small, over time, it does begin to build up! For those of you who are new to couponing, I have learned through this year, that if you just keep on keeping on it will pay off! Just be patient, and don’t give up!
Sola de Gloria! To God be the glory alone!
This Week’s Shopping Trips
Tuesday, November 24th, 2009This week’s trips were great I thought! I was pleasantly surprised at Kroger today especially, I scored lots of freebies that were not advertised. I also ran to Target to capitalize on their cream of chicken soup and on their Del Monte vegetables. So here’s the breakdown: Target:
6 cans of Campbell’s cream of chicken soup 2.70 for all six, on sale for .49 had 2/.25 off of three coupons
14 cans of Del Monte canned veggies 6.86 after tax on sale for .45 each
Had a 5.00 gift card from a weekend toy purchase so my total out of pocket was $4.56
Kroger:
2 Purex laundry detergents 2.60 for both, on sale for 2.50 had 2/.35 off coupons which they doubled and I stacked it with a Kroger 123 rewards coupon for 1.00 off of laundry detergent
1 Huggies 5.99 on sale 8.99 had 1.00 off coupon from Cellfire and 1/2.00 off coupon is store
4 Dial soaps 2.00 for all had 4/.35 off coupons which they doubled
2 Grands Biscuits .49 for both after 2/1.00 off coupons in store and 1/.30 off coupon from Cellfire
1 Dawn Pure essentials .99 had 1/1.00 off coupon in store and 1/.50 off coupon from P&G
4 McCormick brown gravy’s .20 for all four .55 each had 2/.50 off of two which they doubled
2 Dole mandarin oranges=FREE on sale for 1.00 had 2/.50 off coupon from here which they doubled
1 can of Rotel=FREE on sale for 1.00 had .50 printable from ? which they doubled
2 Annie’s organic macaroni and cheese=FREE on sale for 1.00 each had 2/.50 off coupons from here which they doubled
1 Kroger corn chip .54 had .75 off mailer coupon
2 Fiber One 4pk yogurts .49 for both had 1/B1G1 free coupon stacked with 2/1.00 off coupons
1 Yoplait delight 4 pk yogurt .79 had 1.00 off in store 1.00 off from Cellfire
Now I have a 1-2-3 rewards MasterCard so they sent me my 5.00 off check in the mail which I used in addition to my other coupons so my total at Kroger came to: $45.01
Grand Total: $49.57!!
I can’t believe how close I cut it! This is my last shopping trip for the month of November, so stay tuned for my November financial update later on today. Once again I never in my wildest dreams would of thought a year ago that I would be feeding my family of five for $50.00 per week, it just shows how gracious He truly is to me!
